More To Come.

A disappointing day fo the blog yesterday with both selections losing. Autumn Spirit couldn't handle the 7lb rise in the weights. He looked the winner with 3 fences to go but the extra weight told, he couldn't see it out and could only finished a long way back in 3rd. As for Quinsman, he travelled well early on, held up to see out the trip but unfortunately the saddle slipped, he raced quickly to the front and was eventually tailed off when the pace quickened as the jockey couldn't do anything to help his chances. That meant a loss for us but we are still in profit and hopes are high for atleast one winner tomorrow..

Selections:
Autumn Spirit 2pts win @ 13/8+. Result  - 3rd @ 9/4. -2pts.
Quinsman 1pts win @ 11/1 advised. Result - Last @ 7/2. -1pts.

Daily Profit: -3pts.
Overall Profit: +1.1pts.

There is flat action at both Lingfield and Southwell tomorrow with jumps action at Taunton.

15:10 Lingfield Handicap
Slumbering Sioux won on his last start 5 months ago, he's been put up just 3lb for that which doesn't look overly harsh. He got up in the line that draw under a strong drive beating last time out handicap winner Salvationist and the then Michael Bell trained Indian Wish a neck 3rd, he is now rated 63 under Mick Quinlan which means this mark of 62 could be somewhat lenient for Slumbering Sioux. He's a soft ground winner who clearly relished this step up in trip, his mark could be exploitable too, but with all that said this race is stronger and he hasn't been seen for 5 months. If the market vibes are good he may be worth backing but he can only be watched for the time being. Lemon Drop Red could be chucked in here off a mark of 64. He's a 3 race maiden finishing 699 but he's been in some top quality maidens won by; Titus Mills, a listed winner who also finished 10th in the 2010 Racing Post Trophy; Frankel, an unbeaten Henry Cecil colt who is an even money favourite for the 2000 Guineas; and Blue Tiger's Eye who finished a fair 3rd in a handicap off 88 (though Lemon Drop Red was beaten 22L in the maiden). He's tried 8f once and put up easily his best RPR that day behind Frankel, he hasn't been seen since September but Ed Dunlop can ready one for the start of the season and being out of Lemon Drop Kid he is sure to have come on from 2yo to 3yo. Hackett has to be mentioned after finishing 2nd twice in his last two starts but the form of his last race looks weak, the winner went on to be 5th of 5 off 6lb higher next time and the 3rd placed horse was beaten 29 lengths off the same mark next time. Hackett is up 3lb for that last run and he has to improve plenty to win here. Of the others Round Turn needs to find more to win though the drop in trip should suit him having not seen out 9f, 10f or 12f. The capable Daryll Holland is up to ride but I think this is best left to Crown Ridge who seems to have plenty in his favour. He impressed with the way he travelled after a lengthy break last time, he got no sort of run 2f out and again 1f out, he wasn't given a hard ride by M Harley who rides again today but he kept on well enough without threatening. The drop in trip should suit him as should the likely strong pace. M Harley claims 5lb today which he didn't last time meaning he is back on the same mark he won off at Brighton on his last run of last season. Well drawn in stall 4 to get a prominent position up the rail early on, and his trainer, Mick Channon has his runners race fit for the turf season ahead and this is his only runner of the day.

Selection:
Crown Ridge
1pts win @ 7/2+

15:20 Taunton SIS Live Handicap Hurdle
An interesting little handicap hurdle where a few can be given chances. Giant O Murchu was 14 lengths clear of the field when 3 1/4 lengths second to Watergate last time out, the winner relished the return to hurdles after some poor jumping over fences. This race is almost a stone stronger though and off a 7lb higher mark he may be vunerable. Woodlark Island hasn't been out since October but he goes well fresh. His mark of 110 could be somewhat lenient having won off 1lb higher over fences at the tail end of last season before putting in good efforts off up to 8lb higher since then. He'll be suited by the quick ground underfoot as his record on good ground or better over jumps reads 1313442123. David Pipe is going well righ now and with Tom Scudamore booked you should expect a good run for your money if yo back this one but I am going to stick with Teshali who posted an improved effort last time, obviously well suited by the faster surface. He has had two handicap runs, one came in a strong race won by Karky Schultz and then when 4th back in novice company at Newbury last time. James Cowley rode him that day at Newbury claiming 3lb, he can claim his full 10lb today over a shorter trip which Teshali will be suited by having failed to see out 19f last time. The ground is even quicker still and that should also be a plus. This race is around half a stone weaker than that Newbury event and off a 7lb lower mark he has to have a good chance for Paul Nicholls who had a winner with his last runner. Another one who is worth a mention is Posh Emily, she ran 3rd last time behind King Brex, she's been dropped 1lb for that and with Jake Greenall taking over claiming 4lb more than the last claimer could she must have a fair chance off 5lb lower.

Selection:
Teshali
1pts win @ 4/1 Paddy Power.

Good luck with all your bets tomorrow.
